Rimbaud’s illuminations

In the cathedral hundreds of

redwoods reach heavenward.

Shafts of light

cut through like knives.

Nearby two rivers run sliding

over rocks like Han Shan.

Poems looking to go home.

Sounds of kookaburras

break the monastic dawn.

Rimbaud’s illuminations

capture my mind.
